I
have been my own boss for the past 15 years, taking over or starting
nearly a dozen different businesses during that time. When I found
myself looking for a new challenge, I chose to enter the world of
corporate America but had no idea where to begin. How can you possibly
sum up 15 years of entrepreneurial experience on a page or two? I
turned to Ellie for help, and it was the best decision I ever made. Not
only did she manage to showcase my accomplishments, but she was also
somehow able to capture and express my personality and transform my
resume from a mere two-dimensional report card to a living embodiment
of who I am. I have no doubt this was instrumental in my ability to
rapidly win multiple offers and eventually land the job I coveted. I
would recommend her writing and coaching services to anyone seeking a
new career and, in fact, I already have!

Writing – The resume and letter(s) we write for you are developed from information you provide. Writing strategy and approach are based on necessary impact, context, visual appeal and appropriate length. We may not use all the information you have provided, particularly if it is unrelated to the position, provides numbing detail, is repetitive, or if an employer is likely to perceive it in a negative way. Formatting – We recommend an easy-to-read, businesslike, uncluttered format with wide margins and plenty of white space that allows the reader to focus on key information and write margin notes. Type size should be large enough to be easily read. Note that while your name is important to you, the reader will be more interested in the assets you bring to the job...so the size of your name should be in proportion to the body type.
Appropriate length is determined by the desired level of position, your background and experience, and the reader’s expectations. The higher the position, the more the reader will expect a lengthier resume. An entry-level applicant would be expected to have a one-page resume, while a sales professional with 10 years’ experience and solid results may easily have a longer document. A senior-level executive needs to show progressive experience and significant accomplishments throughout a career to establish leadership credibility, so two pages at this level would be appropriate.
